My Writing

Awards/Contests
I became inspired to start creative writing when I was in fourth grade. After reading troves of books and admiring different authors, I entered local writing contests. These awards are from my gradeschool days. Though I haven't entered any writing contests lately,I still write for my own pleasure (and am still currently working on a fiction book, "Touelle".
I entered in various writing contests (both national and statewide) when I was in 6th grade, as a Sacred Hearts Academy student. These are the most notable recognitions.

For Cornelia Funke's novel Inkheart I entered the interpretation category of the statewide NeNe competition. In this category I wrote a new, original scene to the original ending of her book. I won first place in the category, and got to meet the author when she came to the island.

The My Hawaii 2010 publication was an Anthology of 25 students' pieces about their lives in Hawaii. I wrote a freestyle poem, and was one of the authors of the anthology.
The anthology cover, along with pages of my poem, are shown.
