Becoming President of Glee Club in my Junior year was an experience I'm glad I took up– I had to learn how to plan ahead, set goals for the group, and keep members productive and positive through various setbacks or letdowns.
It was an especially challenging decision to make in Junior year– as I was also Design Manager for Yearbook and Historian for the National Honor Society. But no matter what, I'm glad to have led my Glee Club I love so much, and to know that as I led them, we all truly had fun– the ultimate goal of Glee.

GLEE CLUB
I joined Glee Club as a Freshman, never left, and have now been its President for two years. Glee Club has been one of my most influencial sources of my high school life-- I've developed my planning and leadership skills, honed in my musical and performing ability (both dancing and singing at the same time, oh gosh!) and overall enhanced my high school experience in ways I never could've imagined.
Membership (2011-2015)
(I'm on mic!) Glee Club's version of the Japanese song Hare Hare Yukai! (From the anime 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'). It was performed for the Fuchu Highschool welcome ceremony, who was visiting that fall.
This was one of the most challenging pieces ...with the fast paced Japanese words, intensive choreo, and a foreign crowd to please. But Glee persevered, and now to this day we all still know the words and choreo!

To help the club with the new Japanese song, I created a lyric sheet with the Japanese Romanji (and english meaning). I also gave tips and pointers to pronouncing some Japanese words.
Joining Glee Club boosted my confidence and variety in vocal musicality, from when I was a normal member to when I became President. Here are some performances I participated in before I was a President.

A short excerpt of our performance 'A Heart Full of Love' from Le Mis. Featuring Lance Eves, Christine Galvizo, and me (in the white). This piece tested my ultimate-soprano range (which was smaller, back in the day) and was exhilirating to perform at our end-of-the year Chorus 1+4 concert that year.
